Delta solo and curve adjustment of the built-in clipper.

I noticed that no hotkeys are assigned to this button (Ctrl + Left Mouse Button, for example). It simply switches between three modes. But I think we could make it a bit more user-friendly: If one of the two limiting modes is enabled, the "delta solo" function becomes available, allowing you to listen separately to the distortion introduced by the clipper. I suggest assigning this by clicking the icon with Alt + Left Mouse Button. While holding Shift + dragging with the Left Mouse Button up and down, the clipper curve will change, making it either softer or more aggressive. This can be indicated by a color gradient from red to violet and by updating the curve icon instead of using a static image. Consequently, only one mode will be needed instead of two. This will make the final clipping more flexible and clean. The delta solo function is quite important for effects that can introduce significant distortion, such as a clipper.

Features for Granulator in Current

Would be really cool to have an option to alternate panning on grains in the granulator, so that every panned in a pingpong like manner rather than just fully random. Additionally, it would be nice to have this feature on a slide so you could slowly fade into full ping grains. Allows for really mono stable stereo width at high rates (when grains don’t overlap). I’d love if there was a way to have pitch tracking in the grain rate in the granular engine of current function independently from the underlying sample repitching. Right now if you import a sample that isn’t in c, and use the pitch adjustment function in the granular engine to line it up with the keys (e.g. adjusting a sample in D down two semi tones to be in C), adjusting the grain rate pitch tracking up to +48 will also be shifted so it no longer is locked to the proper pitch. Only way around it a the moment is prepitching the sample to C before importing it into current. Adjusting the tuning also changes the way the pitch tracks at the moment. Would be cool to have pitch randomization quantizing so that you could set a randomization for grains to be repitched by octaves or fifths rather than just at any pitch.

Modulators for external effects.

Demonstration of the problem: As can be seen in the video, the filter fails to keep up with external modulation once it exceeds a certain speed threshold. This imposes limitations on the precision of working with effects when fast triggering is required. Solution: Simply add one or two Curve modulators to the external effects related to real-time sound manipulation, similar to those already present in Current (ideally, also replace the stock ones if possible, to add flexibility in working with the modulator's curve-even one Curve modulator would change a lot): Wave Shifter, Ripple Phaser, Morph EQ, Hybrid Filter. There should also be the ability to synchronize the modulators with the host in the usual way and via MIDI trigger. What problem does this solve: The problem of being unable to work precisely with rapid parameter changes, since external modulators and automations do not possess that level of synchronization with the VST.

a "randomize all controls" button in Rift, Wave Shifter (and more?)

i just think it’d be sweet to have a little dice icon in the top corner of some minimal plugins, like Rift and Wave shifter, that would randomize the position of every knob, switch, and dropdown menu, kind of like how newer unfiltered audio plugins (SILO) have. i do this kind of thing when i’m sound designing a lot, but i’m limited by the 16-macro cutoff and the fact that some controls aren’t exposed to automation (Rift pre/post filter switch when?). I know there’s already a random preset button, but i want something a lot more chaotic. this kind of interaction can be really inspiring, and i know minimal plugins really shine in this kind of workflow. if i was getting greedy, i might even suggest that this randomization be “smart” (auto-compensating high drive/input values with low output volumes), or the ability to “lock” certain values so they’re ignored by the randomization, but i’d happily settle for just a brute force randomizer for now.

Bug with FM on subs -- phase wonkiness

Ran into this bug a while ago but just got around to recording video on it. When you load up sub oscillator on default settings, have it play contiguous midi notes (there have to be touching one another end to end), and then crank the fm (in feedback mode on the sub) you can get it into a state where the phase is inconsistent between notes. Some weirdness I ran into this bug: 1.) Doesn’t matter how many voices the synth has, seems to happen in polyphonic and monophonic mode 2.) There doesn’t seem to be an obvious threshold where the fm knob starts making this happen. 3.) The only way to reset it seems to be loading a new instance of current and deleting the old one — deactivating current and reactivating it wont break it out of this behavior. Slight loudness warning on the video for when i crank the fm.
