Hi team, I tried using Hybrid From later using Yabridge and Wine on Linux and found out that the UI is not interacting as I expected; to be frank it's not responding to my mouse at all. I thought it would be a place to shoot my shot in terms of feature requests to get Linux support for the Hybrid Filter plugin.
The reasons why Linux support makes sense:
Windows 10 is ending support and a lot of people are moving to Linux on older machines. Having native support will let users keep using Hybrid Filter.
Support for Linux = larger user base. For the most part Mac and Windows dominate the audio space. But, it could be argued that optimizing the UI to work across platforms, more potential customers and users will be on-boarded and want to purchase Minimal Audio products.
CLAP supported plugins work well on Linux. If you decide against full native support, do consider CLAP support. Companies such as Fabfilter do support CLAP versions of their plugins but not native, and the Yabridge and Wine integration is seamless. Uhe does both CLAP and native versions, and I think if Hybrid Filter can satisfy one or the other, it would be great for us.
I am open to discussing this further and showcasing the issues of running Hybrid Filter on Linux, and open to brainstorming with others in case you need a stronger case as to why Linux support should be needed.
