I believe that Evoke would benefit from featuring a standalone version. Similarly to how Neural DSP amps work as a plugin in a host as well as a standalone unit, Evoke encourages recorded input from the real world. Often when a player is monitoring themselves, they adapt to the signal chain that they’re hearing themselves through. It affects the way we express ourselves in the moment and I would love to hear the way myself and the artists I record are inspired by the way they sound through evoke as they explore it.
Rarely have I felt an obvious intuition that a Minimal Audio plugin should come with a standalone unit until now. I could see it for Current as well but Evoke uniquely strikes me as a good candidate for such a thing.
To clarify something technical, I don’t necessarily want to record the output of Evoke into my DAW, but rather be able to hear what I or an artist would sound like when using the device while recording the dry vocal into the DAW
I hope that the devs will consider this idea in the future.
