A Plugin to suit Piezo Guitars

Hello, I have recently received an e-mail from you (Minimal Audio) asking of possible plugin ideas. Well, here’s an idea and one issue I have a constant struggle with … the dreaded ‘Electro-Acoustic Guitar’ and it’s thin piezo sound (especially … when played open … the 1st E and 2nd B strings). I am an avid acoustic guitar player along with electric guitars and my basic keyboard/keys ability which is what I use to write my songs and play music, all good so far. BUT … when I put down my acoustic guitar (D28) and pickup my electro-acoustic to quickly plug into my interface and put ideas into my DAW, the sound I get is just so uninspiring! I then lose the initial idea trying to get a sound I like from my ‘electro-Acoustic' … so frustrating. Different strings, different picks, playing just finger style (even different tunings), Along with Acoustic preamp plugins, I have tried pretty much all of them, adding various FX combinations of plugins before/after/parallel/side-chained together, you name it … they just don’t deliver (for me) a convincing sound. Is there anyway that you might look into a plugin that takes the dreaded Electro-Acoustic piezo sound, and gives the user filters, user/factory prerecorded options etc, albeit that removes that horrible thin sound. Perhaps it gives IR options and allows the user to record his/her own miked up acoustics and then apply an IR file of choice and perhaps blend options, all within a single plugin (I have also tried several IR plugin brands and various doubling up/parallel options here to … but still I don’t get a convincing sound). If certain plugin brands are able to do this with microphone sounds/characteristics (ie. make an SM58 sound like a Neumann U87 or M149) surely it’s something achievable with piezo acoustic guitar sounds? For instance, a floor pedal currently for sale called a “Tone Dexter” (not a cheap unit and I have not yet tried one) but it’s said/advertised to do just this. I’m not asking to plug in a bass guitar and out the other end comes the sound of David Sanborn playing a saxophone (lol)! Just a nice clean/rich/convincing ‘proper’ acoustic guitar sound … what do you think guys ??
